RSOBHD Pivot into Action

The RSOBHD is pleased to be running a new initiative through their Pivot Into Action programme, where Primary schools are offered short Highland Dance ‘taster’ sessions for their Primary 1 and 2 classes.

Young people who participate will receive information directing them to the RSOBHD promotional website, www.highland-dancing.com, for further information.

To help new dancers and their families find qualified teachers in their area, we are updating the list of Highland dance schools displayed on the highland-dancing.com website.

This online directory will be publicly accessible to anyone wishing to learn more about Highland dancing or to find a local class. If you would like your school to be included, please complete the short form below to ensure we have accurate details for you:

Form link: https://forms.gle/deGzvziRuL1GRw9D9

The form asks for:

  • Name of dance school
  • Examining body/bodies with which they are registered
  • Location and Address of dance school
  • Main contact person, telephone number and email
  • If the school offers classes for Primary school aged children, and whether they would be willing to offer one or two free classes to pupils who have taken part in the RSOBHD taster programme (At present these are being delivered in Fife, West Dunbartonshire and Aberdeen, the intention being to roll out the format across Scotland)

Please note that the programme is specifically aimed at young people with no previous dance experience.

We would be very grateful if anyone who wishes their information to be included on the website could take a few minutes to complete the form.

Thank you for your support in helping us promote Highland dancing to a new generation of dancers!
